Honda is the latest automaker to get into the insurance business. In late July, the Japanese manufacturer announced Honda Insurance Solutions, an online marketplace that gives consumers a simple way to comparison shop for car, home, and even pet insurance policies from dozens of top providers.
The program, a partnership with omnichannel insurance brokerage VIU by HUB, is available for all makes and models of automobiles, although Honda and Acura owners are guaranteed replacement parts from their original manufacturers.

The in-house insurance agency has policies for residents in all 50 states, including plans from top providers like Progressive, Geico and Nationwide.
In addition to automobiles, it offers vehicle coverage for motorcycles, boats, RVs, ATVs and more.
Honda joins other major automakers, including Tesla, Toyota, and GM, in expanding into the insurance market. It suggested that the venture marked the start of a broader strategy to integrate insurance into digital vehicle sales platforms, encompassing telematics and usage-based pricing.
“This is just the beginning of our vision,” Petar Vucurevic, president of American Honda Insurance Solutions, said in a statement.
“Insurance is a key touchpoint in the vehicle ownership journey, and we aim to deliver a superior experience tailored to the unique needs of each customer.”
