From HRT hero to smart supplement

FROM magnesium to probiotics, hangover cures and vitamins, I try out hundreds of health products every year.

The list is endless – but there are a few gems I can’t live without after trialling them.

Here, I reveal my health heroes of 2025.

Shorts

I KNOW it is freezing outside, but I still run in Bimble & Bolt’s 6in shorts.

Similar pairs are often designed for yoga and don’t stay up when you’ve loaded your pockets with phones and keys, but these have a drawstring waistband to help them stay put.

They are said to be high compression but I found them snug, stretchy, soft and really flattering.

CRACKERS

As well as two side pockets for phones, they have a zip at the back and come in various colours. I love them.

Hormone-balancing

I recommend The Golden Pill by Elle SeraCredit: Supplied

I AM at that age where I could take HRT – but after trying it, I found it didn’t help me.

The Golden Pill by Elle Sera worked, though.

It contains five plant-based ingredients – maca extract for hot flushes, low energy, and mood swings, beetroot for athletic performance, stress-reducing Siberian ginseng, ginkgo leaf for memory, and tribulus terrestris.

These compounds work similarly to the sex hormones testosterone and oestrogen.

The Golden Pill has the same dosage used in clinical trials to increase libido but not in large enough amounts to cause unpleasant side effects.

My mood immediately balanced out and after taking them for about a month I had more energy.

From £1.66 a day. elle-sera.com/products/the-golden-pill.

Greens

BetterGreens tastes sweet and fruityCredit: supplied

BETTERVITS’ BetterGreens powder contains greens including spirulina, chlorella, and kale, and is fortified with prebiotics, and probiotics.

It has adaptogenics (plants thought to help alleviate stress and anxiety) including ginseng and maca, plus 100 per cent of the recommended daily amount of vitamins, as well as coenzyme Q10 for immune-strengthening and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Some greens don’t taste great but this has what is described as an “all-natural mango pineapple crush flavour”. It still tastes a bit green but sweet and fruity too.

I love this and take it daily. Simply add 10g to water or smoothies.

From £45 for 30 servings, bettervits.co.uk/ products/bettergreens-powder.
