ST. CLOUD — The Charlie Boike Memorial Fund is helping the Omni Training Facility in Waite Park with an expansion project and it received some additional help this month from the Herb Brooks Foundation.
The Herb Brooks Foundation made a gift of $5,000 for the project, which will help with a multi-sport expansion at Omni.
Charlie Boike was a hockey player for the
boys team who died in a car accident on Dec. 10, 2022.
Boike grew up in St. Augusta and he became active in hockey at a young age. He volunteered for the St. Cloud Norseman NAHL team in many capacities, was the founder of Farmer Charlie’s Produce, a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud and a member of the National Honor Society. He was also a big St. Cloud State hockey fan.
The Charlie Boike Memorial Fund is continuing to support and encourage others to carry on Charlie’s legacy by focusing on local community outreach and contributing to the local organizations that share the same values and passions.
