Loop Capital Acquires Life Line Wealth Management Assets To Expand Athlete And Family Office Platform

Loop Capital and Life Line Holdings have completed an asset transfer agreement covering specified assets from Life Line’s wealth management and family office businesses, expanding Loop’s wealth and family office platform for athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, executives, and families.

The transaction is designed to preserve the high-touch service Life Line clients have received while connecting transitioning clients with Loop Capital’s broader investment resources, specialized expertise, and institutional capabilities.

Founded by Humble Lukanga, Life Line built its business around personalized financial stewardship for accomplished individuals and families across sports, entertainment, and business. Its client base includes professional athletes, actors, creators, and entrepreneurs.

Loop Capital plans to integrate the transitioning relationships into its broader wealth management platform, which coordinates investment management, financial planning, family office services, sports and entertainment advisory, and financial education. The firm said its approach addresses the increasingly complex financial lives of clients whose needs extend beyond traditional portfolio management.

Founded in Chicago in 1997, Loop Capital has grown from six professionals to nearly 300 and manages more than $12 billion in assets, including Loop’s general partnership interest in JLC Infrastructure. The firm operates across investment banking, capital markets, asset management, financial consulting, sports and entertainment advisory, and wealth management.

Loop said the Life Line transaction also supports its strategy of helping athletes and entertainers move beyond earning income toward long-term ownership and investment. The firm has previously organized athlete-backed investment opportunities, including a 2021 financing group involving Charles Barkley, Devin Booker, Derrick Rose, and D’Angelo Russell that supported the growth of hydration company Coco5.

Loop Wealth combines the firm’s institutional capabilities with personal wealth management and family office services. The platform is intended to help clients evaluate public and private investment opportunities, manage tax and planning considerations, understand business structures and risk, and preserve wealth across generations.

KEY QUOTES:

“Successful athletes and entertainers are often building significant wealth at the same time they’re managing demanding careers, business opportunities, family responsibilities and decisions that can have consequences for decades. They need more than investment products or performance reports. They need people who understand the full picture, can bring the right resources together and can help them make informed decisions about how to protect, manage and grow what they are building now, and preserve it long after their playing or performing careers end.”

Jim Reynolds, Founder, Chairman and CEO Of Loop Capital

“Life Line was built around knowing our clients personally, understanding what matters to them and serving them with care and integrity. This next chapter gives transitioning clients the opportunity to maintain that personal approach while gaining access to Loop’s broader capabilities and resources.”

Humble Lukanga, Founder and Owner Of Life Line Holdings

“We want clients thinking not only about what they earn today, but about what they can own tomorrow. Our goal is to connect personal advice with the resources to evaluate opportunities, manage complexity and build lasting family wealth.”

Jim Reynolds, Founder, Chairman, and CEO Of Loop Capital
