Marshall Municipal Utilities has provided tips to held area customers conserve energy.
MMU is asking its customers to voluntarily conserve energy, especially between 2 and 6 p.m. MMU says conserving and lowering the demand during this time will help keep wholesale costs down which translates to savings for the customers MMU serves.
Here are some tips to help you conserve energy:
-Turn the thermostat up a few degrees,
-Decrease the use of major appliances,
-Don’t allow the sun to shine through windows,
-Turn off lights and unnecessary electrical devices.
MMU encourages residents to conserve energy, but do not jeopardize your safety in the summer heat.
