LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Gov. Jim Pillen is set to give an update on his state property tax plan on Monday afternoon.

The governor is expected to make a special announcement on “preserving investments in law enforcement, fire, and public safety, while solving Nebraska’s property tax crisis.”
The governor will be joined by Lt. Gov. Joe Kelly and members of the Revenue Committee, as well as law enforcement, firefighter, and other public safety leaders from across the state.
Pillen’s update comes as state senators are on a break after working through Saturday to complete first steps on 81 bills filed in the first days of the special session. Lawmakers are expected to reconvene the special session on tax reform on Wednesday.
