Wealth management firm JM Finn has strengthened its York office with the appointment of Jacob Parsons as wealth planner, supporting its continued regional expansion.
Jacob, who qualified as a chartered financial planner in 2025, brings experience from several Yorkshire financial planning firms, having previously served 12 years as a Royal Marines officer.
Reporting to Anna Murdock, head of wealth planning, he will work alongside the investment management team to provide clients with financial planning and investment advice.
Jacob’s appointment follows a series of regional hires at JM Finn, including the opening of its Cheltenham office earlier this year.
The firm welcomed a team of six from EFG Harris Allday, alongside the recruitment of Tom Barton from RBC Brewin Dolphin, with John Davies also set to join from Evelyn Partners.
Anna said: “Jacob’s experience is exactly what we needed to help us support the team in York.
“Demand from clients for financial planning advice has continued to grow, so having a Wealth Planner based in the York office was the logical next step.
“Jacob will work closely with the investment management team to ensure we can provide clients with joined-up investment and financial planning advice.”
Lucy Coutts, investment director and head of JM Finn’s York branch, added: “Having Jacob in the team is a huge boost to our ability to provide top quality investment and financial advice to our clients.
“Putting advice at the heart of our proposition is key to delivering an enhanced client experience and we’re delighted that Jacob has chosen us for the next chapter of his career.”
