WSG and iStoreDOCS introduce digital GAP insurance solution

Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) and Mad Devs’ iStoreDOCS have introduced a digitally-enabled GAP insurance solution for dealers.

Customers are provided with 30 days of complimentary GAP cover through the iStoreDOCS customer portal.

They will then be engaged to extend through digital touchpoints, follow-up communications and engagement from WSG’s sales team.

WSG said that embedding GAP into the portal ensures strong visibility, as customer engagement is above 80%, while allowing dealers to offer the product in a compliant way, without additional workload.

The company’s Barnsley-based call centre has more than 10 years of GAP insurance expertise.

Customers will be offered flexible 0% payment options over 10 months.

WSG said that many dealers have stepped away from offering GAP insurance in recent years due to regulatory complexity, operational burden and limited uptake from customers.

Daniel Rea, sales director at Mad Devs, said: “This partnership is about removing friction for retailers while enhancing the customer journey.

“By embedding GAP insurance into a platform customers already trust and use, we’re creating a natural, compliant way to deliver real value without adding complexity for the dealer.

“From a dealer perspective, the proposition is simple: no risk, all reward. There is no compliance burden, as WSG handles all regulatory requirements.

“There is no admin or setup, with the integration fully managed end-to-end. Dealers benefit from an incremental revenue opportunity driven by WSG’s specialist team, while also enhancing the customer experience by offering valuable protection without pressure.”

Phil Miskelly, OEM and corporate sales director at Warranty Solutions Group, said: “Retailers have been asking for a simpler, fully compliant way to reintroduce GAP insurance, and this partnership delivers exactly that.

“By combining digital engagement with specialist support, we’re enabling dealers to offer meaningful protection to customers without adding pressure to their sales teams or introducing operational complexity.

“This is about more than just product distribution. It’s about reshaping how GAP is delivered in a modern retail environment.

“By integrating into an existing digital journey and supporting it with expert-led customer engagement, we’re creating a model that is scalable, compliant and commercially effective for today’s market.

“The value of GAP insurance has never been clearer. UK GAP claim values reached record highs in 2025, with average payouts increasing by up to 37%.

“Typical claims now exceed £7,500, with high-value claims nearing £28,000. Around 66% of claims are due to accidents, with a further 27% linked to theft, particularly involving high-spec vehicles.

“With rising vehicle prices and increasing total loss costs, GAP insurance is becoming an essential protection product rather than an optional extra.”
