RALEIGH, N.C. (WBTV) – Almost a month after Hurricane Helene tore through Western North Carolina, Governor Roy Cooper and State Budget Director Kristen Walker will outline suggested funding for the disaster recovery Wednesday afternoon.
You can watch the announcement in the live stream player above at 2 p.m.
The storm hit the Carolinas on Sept. 27, killing at least 96 people and leaving countless others missing. More than 1 million customers without power and about 1,300 roads closed – not to mention the number of people who lost water for weeks.
While the state continues to rebuild, no official damage estimate has been provided yet.
