Germany provides €60 million to support Ukraine’s energy sector


Germany has contributed €60 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

Details: Svyrydenko said the funds would help speed up the delivery of generators, energy equipment and mobile thermal power plants.

More details: During their meeting, the two officials discussed Ukraine’s preparations for winter and efforts to strengthen the country’s energy resilience. They agreed to establish a joint energy working group and expand industrial cooperation.

Quote: “We have proposed that Germany sign an intergovernmental agreement to support investors, following the model already implemented by Denmark, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland. I have also expressed gratitude to Germany for its active stance on the use of Russian assets.”

  • Background:In September 2025, Lithuania’s state-owned distribution system operator Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius AB announced it would provide Ukraine with more than 200 power transformers of various capacities.

  • Spain has also sent 70 generators to Ukraine as part of its announced energy assistance package.
