CenterPoint Energy Indiana South in Evansville is sending out a request for proposals for new energy sources to help customers in southwest Indiana.

The utility said Monday that it’s seeking “generation technologies capable of providing fully accredited capacity no later than March 1, 2028.” The company encourages applicants to focus on renewable energy sources including solar, wind and geothermal solutions.

“As we continue to transition our electric generation resources, we are focused on diversifying our energy portfolio to help us to continue delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective service to our customers,” Shane Bradford, a vice president at CenterPoint, said in a news release.

CenterPoint serves around 150,000 customers in southwest Indiana. Proposals are due Oct. 8, and you can learn more about the RFP by clicking here.

CenterPoint released a similar RFP in 2022.
