WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – An upcoming event will be teaching people some very important skills.
The Adult Mental Health First Aid Training event is geared towards anyone hoping to learn more about mental health and how to spot warning signs before someone experiences a mental health crisis.
Instructors will also be teaching people where to turn to help if someone is in a crisis or non-crisis situation.
Director of the Wicomico Local Behavior Health Authority, Michelle Hardy, said this event could help someone save a life down the line.
“At least 1 out of 5 individuals experience some type of mental health challenge over a lifetime, so it’s important for us as a community to recognize the signs and symptoms of an early mental health challenge, so that we can assist those individuals,” Hardy said.
