Mental Health: Wear It Green Day to return next week

Taking place on Thursday, May 14, the campaign encourages people in Bournemouth and across the UK to wear green to raise awareness and spark conversations about mental wellbeing.

TV stars Dr Ranj Singh and Gaby Roslin are among a group of celebrities supporting the day, which is organised by the Mental Health Foundation and aims to promote positive mental health through visible and simple action.

Dr Singh said: “I am so pleased and proud to be supporting Wear It Green Day because, even though it’s only one day, it serves as a reminder that we should be looking out for our mental health every day.

“Hopefully it will help spark some conversations, encourage people to open up and seek help when they need it, and remind everyone that they’re not alone.”

The campaign also serves as a major fundraising opportunity for the Mental Health Foundation, with individuals and organisations encouraged to donate or raise £3 per participant.

Ms Roslin said: “Wear It Green Day and Mental Health Awareness Week are powerful moments that get us all thinking, talking and taking action to support good mental health.”

Resources and event packs are available at the Mental Health Foundation website.
