Oct. 7 (UPI) — Freida Parton, the sister of Dolly Parton, asked for prayers on Tuesday for the country music legend who had to cancel recent appearances because of health issues.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” Freida Parton wrote in a Facebook post. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.”
The post did not include any details about Dolly Parton’s condition but it comes just a week after she announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency due to health issues.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton said in an Instagram post. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
Parton said in the post that she was rescheduling the shows, adding “don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”

Parton, 79, revealed last month that she had a kidney stone “that was causing me a lot of problems” and forced her to miss a Dollywood event in Tennessee.
“Turned out, it’d given me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’ So, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit,” Parton said, according to People magazine.

Parton had shown no signs of slowing and recently shared news of her upcoming musical, described as her “rag to rhinestones story.” That’s on top of her new children’s book and a collaboration with Good American jeans.
Representatives for Parton had not issued a statement as of Tuesday night.
Writing in her Facebook post Tuesday, Freida Parton appealed to her sister’s fans “to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
“She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine,” Freida Parton wrote. “Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
