PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – A Mississippi author is encouraging minority communities to take a more proactive role in protecting and transferring family wealth.
Sabrina Edmon Williams has written a new book about the subject titled “Learning to Trust.”
She hosted a book signing and seminar Saturday at Twin Forks Rising Community Development Corporation.
Williams, who also has been a college professor and real estate investor, said it was important for all families to talk about subjects like estate planning, trusts and wills.
“The message I have for people is failure to plan is a plan to fail,” Williams said. “Even though it’s an uncomfortable conversation a lot of times, it is a very necessary conversation, because the reality is, all of us at some time, have an expiration date.”
Williams will be speaking across the state and will be at the Mississippi Book Festival on Sept. 14 in Jackson.
