I want to get you out of here on a name we don’t often talk about on this program. Uh that is Impinge, playing in a slightly different space within that AI trade, but I think in we’re going to talk about it later in the program.
00:08 Speaker A
There are just so many different ways that investors can play these, you know, these AI themes. I’m curious where that company sits within this context for you.
00:17 Speaker B
Well, I think with Impinge, if you think about the world, like the 1950s and 60s is when you had the earliest AI internet technologies around.
00:24 Speaker B
RFID, which is where Impinge plays has been around since about the 1970s, but I think it’s a technology whose time has finally come.
00:30 Speaker B
because if you look at where their products are,
00:35 Speaker B
RFID technology, which is these chips you can put on to track everything. They’re up, you know, they’re being used uh a lot at Walmart, at FedEx, at all these companies.
00:46 Speaker B
But with this new technology that’s come out, the MA MI 800, which is on 22 nanometer technology, all of a sudden, these inlay costs are down to like 2 cents each.
00:55 Speaker B
And so their current market right now is apparel, where it’s about an 80 billion unit a year market.
01:01 Speaker B
That’s expanding to general merchandise as you tag everything in the store. That’s about a 320 billion unit market.
01:07 Speaker B
But the real holy grail is, what do we do every day? We eat. Well, the food and drink packaging market, that’s over a trillion units.
01:13 Speaker B
And they’ve started trials at eight out of the 10 biggest grocers in the world right now, and you’re going to start to see some of this translate into ramping pilots next year.
01:24 Speaker B
And that’s obviously, 1 trillion is way bigger than 80 billion, and that’s going to start, I think, RFID technology, I think its time has finally come.
01:34 Speaker B
I think this could be the best growing technology company over the next 5 to 10 years, and it’s only at a $5 billion market cap today.
01:40 Speaker B
So obviously could grow quite a bit as you penetrate those massive markets.
