YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Mahoning County property owners should watch their mailboxes as real estate tax bills will be arriving — if they haven’t already.
Treasurer Dan Yemma says those “second-half” tax bills were mailed July 10 through the Postal Service. There are roughly 166,000 taxable parcels in the county.
The deadline to have those payments sent back is Friday, Aug. 2.
“We try to go between three and four weeks in advance of the deadline,” Yemma said.
He says they don’t like to send the second half around the Fourth of July weekend, so this year they were sent out right after the holiday.
Property owners have the choice of paying in person at the Treasurer’s Office in Youngstown, sending their payment electronically through the office website, or mailing a check.
