MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Students and parents will soon be able to save money while back-to-school shopping as Alabama’s School Tax Holiday approaches.
The tax holiday is 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 19 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, according to a press release.
During the tax holiday, students and families can purchase these eligible items free of sales tax:
- certain types of clothing at $100 or less per item
- computers, software or computer supplies at $750 or less per purchase
- certain school supplies at $50 or less per item
- certain types of books at $30 or less per item
