ROCHELLE — On Thursday, Oct. 17, a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony were held for Farmers Insurance Lassiter Agency at 1220 Currency Court in Rochelle. The business offers auto, home, renter’s and business insurance and more.
The event was hosted by the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and speakers included Agency Owner Eve Lassiter, Chamber Executive Director Tricia Herrera and Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows.
“I just want to thank everybody for coming out to support me,” Lassiter said. “I want to thank my family and our staff. I want to thank my district team that’s been wonderful for the past year. I couldn’t thank them more. Thank you so much for supporting me. I’m really excited and hoping for success.”
Herrera thanked Lassiter for choosing to open her business in Rochelle.
“I’ve been fortunate to know Eve for many years,” Herrera said. “When she came to me and said she was going to open this insurance business and how excited she was, we were so excited for her. We know she’s local and has her family here. You have many of your corporate staff here supporting you today and we’re very excited for that. Congratulations. This is a beautiful space and location and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.”
During his remarks, Bearrows pointed out the city staff and officials in attendance and offered the municipality’s support.
“As you start your business, we always talk about how it’s a triangle of success,” Bearrows said. “It’s the business, and then you have partners in the city and chamber. As anyone can attest that was here during the pandemic, you saw how all three of those entities pulled together to save our local businesses from sure disaster during COVID-19. We’re all here today to ‘insure’ your success. Welcome to your new location and we hope you have many great years to come.”
