United prepare to fund Ugarte deal
Manchester United are hoping to let Casemiro and Scott McTominay go in order to raise funds for Manuel Ugarte.
The midfielder is a target for United, but Paris Saint-Germain want £59 million for the player.
“Mail Sport understands that there is currently no agreement between the two clubs and that PSG will not sell the player for less than £59m.
“United should be able to reach that asking price but first they must make space in their squad – and in their budget – by selling another midfielder.
“Two players have been identified as possible candidates that could be sold to facilitate Ugarte’s arrival.
“Those players are 32-year-old Brazilian Casemiro and 27-year-old Scotland star Scott McTominay.”
United ready for Antony departure
Manchester United are prepared to let Antony leave on loan if a suitable offer is made.
The Brazilian has underwhelmed in the last two seasons, and if a club can cover his wages then the Mirror believes he can go.
“The Brazilian winger, 24, was The Red Devils’ marquee signing back in the summer of 2022 after Erik ten Hag pushed the Old Trafford hierarchy to do a deal for a player he worked closely with at Ajax.
“Two seasons on from said blockbuster transfer, Antony has failed to justify the £86 million sum that United parted with in order to bring him to the Premier League – and the wide-man could now be set for a summer move.
“While United are ready to green light a loan move, previous reports had indicated that the club’s top brass were ready to cut their losses on Antony amid plans to oversee a summer clear-out.”
West Ham keen on Kante return
West Ham are looking to bring N’Golo Kante back to the Premier League after his impressive Euro 2024 performances.
He is currently with Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, but the Telegraph says they could be open to selling.
“Kante, a title winner with both Leicester City and Chelsea, joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad one year ago and made 46 appearances in all competitions last season.
“Telegraph Sport understands that West Ham’s interest is at an early stage and it remains to be seen what kind of fee would be required to sign the 33-year-old, if indeed Al-Ittihad are willing to let him leave. Kante’s current contract runs until 2026.
“West Ham are targeting four or five new signings this summer as they look to provide head coach Julen Lopetegui with a strong squad for his first campaign in charge. As reported by Telegraph Sport earlier this week, they have interest in Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, while they are also pushing to sign Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.”
Fulham move on hold for Andre
Fulham’s move for Fluminense midfielder Andre appears to have stalled as they search for a replacement for Joao Palhinha.
The Evening Standard reports that the London club are yet to respond to negotiations from the Brazilians.
“Standard Sport understands The Cottagers are keen on the Brazil international as they attempt to replace Joao Palhinha.
“Portugal international Palhinha joined Bayern Munich in a deal worth £47.5m, a year after his initial move to the Bavarian giants broke down.
“Andre is a long-standing target at Craven Cottage and was of interest last August, with the west London club understood to have been in regular contact with their Brazilian counterparts last season.
“Fluminense are believed to value the 23-year-old at around £25m and Bittencourt insists Fulham have not yet responded to the Brazilian club’s counter-offer made earlier this month.”
