Briefing session on the Health4Life Fund

This briefing session will introduce the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund to Catalyze Country Action for Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health – known as the Health4Life Fund (H4LF) – which was established by the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to pool funding for multistakeholder action in low- and middle-income countries.

H4LF is an integral part of the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on NCDs, uniting 46 agencies and intergovernmental organizations to support governments in reducing the burden of noncommunicable diseases and mental health conditions. A joint Task Force mission on NCDs was carried out in Tonga in 2015.

In May 2024, the Philippines became a H4LF Strategic Partner, alongside Kenya, Mauritius, Scotland, and Uruguay, endorsing the Fund’s intention to mobilize Global South leadership and funds.

The briefing session will be hosted by the Philippines Department of Health led by Secretary Teodoro Herbosa with speakers Linda Merieau, Lead of Partnerships and Resource Mobilization of the UN Health4Life Fund, and Rory Nefdt, Head of Child, Community Health and NCDs, Health section of UNICEF.

All delegates to the seventy-fifth session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific are welcome to attend.
