Jets Star Davante Adams Calls Out Team For Lack Of Energy and Urgency

Star wide receiver Davante Adams hasn’t been with the New York Jets for very long but that didn’t stop him from voicing his feelings about the team. He slammed the organization for their lack of urgency and energy during their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.

“There was a lack of energy and urgency out there, and it was apparent,” Adams said Wednesday, via ESPN. “I played on teams that have that winning culture, and just basically I just took a moment to let them know I had reservations about speaking up too early and being too vocal too early. But I felt like in my mind, I said, ‘F that, because we don’t have time. I have to do whatever I have to do to help the team move forward.’ “

New York fell to Pittsburgh by a score of 37-15, a blowout in a primetime matchup. They now sit with a record of 2-5 on the season and have some real work to do if they want to turn things around.

Adams believes that if the Jets have another game like they did last week, it will be a sign of a bigger problem. But he is trying to take responsibility as a leader of this organization.

“If we go out the next game and we have the same type of issues, then it’s a bigger issue,” he said. “And me, regardless if I just got here, I’m a leader of this football team and whether or not every single person in there sees it that way, that’s how I see it and that’s my responsibility and that’s something I take seriously.”

The Jets have struggled to find any form of consistency, especially on the offensive side of the football. Despite having star quarterback Aaron Rodgers healthy this year, New York hasn’t been able to win games.

They have already fired their head coach this season so things aren’t looking very promising for this team. But with the talent that they have, they could go on a run and grab a few wins in a row.

They will be taking on the New England Patriots this week, followed by a matchup with the Houston Texans. New York then plays the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts to round out the next four games.

If they can come away with at least three wins in this span, it could help turn their year around. It won’t be easy but this team has been battling through adversity all year long and that won’t change anytime soon.
