They’re required to fuse Necrozma with Solgaleo and Lunala, letting you form the powerful Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma. These resources aren’t easy to come by, though, so brushing up on how to get them is a good idea.
Following in the footsteps of Mega-Evolutions and Primal Reversion, the latest major feature to make its way from mainline Pokémon games into Pokémon GO is Fusion. Solar Fusion Energy is a special resource that you can earn by defeating Dusk Mane Necrozma in 5-Star Raid Battles. Dusk Mane Necrozma will appear in Raids during the Pokémon GO Fest 2024 event on July 24, 2024. It will likely return to Raids during future Pokémon GO events, but there’s no word on when that could be right now, so make the most of this event while you can.
If you’re taking on the Psychic/Steel-type Dusk Mane Necrozma in a Raid Battle, it’s important to know that its weaknesses are Dark, Fire, Ghost, and Ground-type attacks. Some of the best counters you can use are Primal Groudon, Mega Charizard, Reshiram, Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Excadrill, and Chandelure. Just make sure that their movesets match their typings.

Add Dawn Wings Necrozma To Your Team
Lunar Fusion Energy is a special resource that can be earned by defeating Dawn Wings Necrozma in Raid Battles. You can encounter Dawn Wings Necrozma in Raids during the Pokémon GO Fest 2024 event on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Just like Dusk Mane Necrozma, this Raid Boss will likely return during future events, but it’s currently unknown when that could be.
If you’re going to fight the Ghost/Psychic-type Dawn Wings Necrozma in a Raid Battle, note that its only weaknesses are Dark and Ghost-type attacks. It’s best to focus on Dark-type Pokemon here, as Ghost-types are weak to other Ghost-types. Some of the best counters you can use are Mega Houndoom, Darkrai, Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Zarude, Weavile, and Zoroark.
You’ll need 1,000 Fusion Energy as well as 30 Necrozma Candy and 30 Cosmog Candy to fuse Necrozma with either Solgaleo or Lunala.
It’s also possible to earn Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy by completing certain Special Research quests, such as the Pokémon GO Fest 2024 Special Research quest. This will go live on Sunday, July 14, 2024, and it will only be available for Trainers who purchase a ticket to the Pokémon GO Fest 2024 event. It will feature a branching path, where Trainers can choose which Fusion Energy type they would prefer.
