How To Craft And Use Energy Activators In The First Descendant

Arguably the largest power spike you can achieve early on in The First Descendant is installing an Energy Activator onto your items. This item supercharges your equipment, increasing its maximum module capacity by a sizable amount. It’s a mandatory item to create the strongest endgame builds, but getting your hands on one can prove tricky.

Don’t know how to get and use Superfluid? We’ve got you covered!

Despite the low drop rates on most Energy Activator blueprints, this is actually one of the game’s easier items to get. So long as you’re OK with farming Amorphous Materials as Bunny, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting a small stockpile of Energy Activators with a few days worth of grinding. Let’s show you the best farming spots to make this grind as painless as possible.

How To Craft Energy Activators

The First Descendant Energy Activator Requirements

Energy Activators are obtainable for free, although they’re quite difficult to craft. Beyond finding an Energy Activator Blueprint, you’ll also need a stockpile of some fairly rare endgame materials to forge one. Exact crafting costs are shown in the table below.

Where To Farm Energy Activator Blueprints

You’ll find Energy Activator Blueprints from Amorphous Materials. Most materials have a slim chance of dropping a blueprint. Rare (purple) materials have a 3% drop chance, while Ultimate (gold) materials have a 6% drop chance. You can increase these odds further by using Shape Stabilizers. The highest possible drop rate is 10% on an Ultimate Amorphous Material.

The best material to farm is Amorphous Material 57, which drops from The Magister dungeon in Kingston. You’ll need to play in Hard mode for this to drop. With a good Bunny build, you can earn two materials every four minutes, making this a highly efficient Amorphous Material farm.

Material 57 can then be cracked open in the Executioner Void Intercept fight, the first one available in Hard mode. Gley paired with a good weapon should make short work of this colossus. Crack open the material and repeat the process as needed.

Low-Carbon Activator Farm

First Descendant Low Carbon Activator Mission Farm

Low-Carbon Activators only drop from the Kingston Recon mission on Hard difficulty. You’ll find it in the Fallen Theater region. The Elite miniboss at the end of the mission is the only monster that can drop this resource.

Once you’ve cleared the Recon mission, travel to another zone to reset the instance. Make sure you set your instance to private. When you return, the timer should be drastically reduced or removed entirely, allowing you to farm this mission back-to-back.

First Descendant Conductive Metallic Foil Farm Map

Similar to Crystallization Catalysts, you’ll need to farm Encrypted Vaults in Vespers. We find the best spot to be The Ruins. There’s a potential vault spawn right next to the fast travel point, a second one on the southern edge of the map, and a third location near the central ruins.

Opening the vaults as Enzo will yield extra materials and a chance of earning exclusive Transcendent mods. Enzo also makes the vault minigame much easier.

However, before you can open an Encrypted Vault, you must first have a Code Analyzer in your consumables inventory. They’re a rare drop from all slain monsters. Popular kill farms such as the ambush mission in Sterile Lands are ideal for earning Code Analyzers. Bear in mind that Code Analyzers are broken up into three tiers and have different variants on Hard mode. Be sure you’re farming codes and opening vaults on the same difficulty.

Heat Plasma Battery Farm

First Descendant Old Mysteries Dungeon Map

You can find Heat Plasma Batteries in Hagios dungeons, both on Normal and Hard mode. We recommend farming Old Mystery on Hard mode. It spawns quite a few Elite monsters during a defense section partway through the dungeon. You can repeatedly farm Elites there until you have enough materials.

Polyatomic Ion Particle Farm

First Descendant Fortress Particle Farm Mission

Polyatomic Ion Particles are a drop from Elite monsters in the Fortress region on Hard difficulty. The best place to farm Elites is the Command Relay mission in Frozen Valley. You’ll be forced to fight a small army of Vulgus inside a small area. Elites will spawn periodically throughout the mission. Use Bunny to quickly clear the waves, and you should have enough particles in a few runs.

How To Use Energy Activators

Installing an Energy Activator is quite easy. From the module menu, select “Module Additional Options,” then click on “Max Capacity UP.” If you have a crafted Energy Activator, you’ll be able to install the activator into your item, increasing your maximum module capacity. Descendants get +20 capacity, while weapons gain +30 capacity. This item is one-time use and cannot be applied multiple times onto the same item.
