Dance Professionals Fund has announced Denise Perry will succeed Clemmie Cowl as executive director in February next year.
Perry joined the team in February 2025 as the lead on the dance welfare charity’s Career Upskilling Programme, and has experience as a dance relationship manager at Arts Council England and director of Survive in Dance.
Cowl will step down after more than two decades at Dance Professionals Fund, leaving “an extraordinary legacy of compassion, commitment and lasting impact”, according to the fund’s chair Kate Coyne.
Commenting on her departure, Coyne said: “She will be greatly missed by all who have worked with her, and more importantly by those who have experienced her outstanding care and empathy at sometimes very difficult moments in their lives.”
Adding that she is “delighted” Perry will be taking on the role, she said: “Denise comes with considerable skills and experience of both grant making and the work of benevolent funds.
“The trustees are delighted that, following a rigorous interview process, she has been appointed to this role.”
