The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the launch of a new Energy Scholarship valued at $20,000, aimed at supporting Bermudian students pursuing studies in energy-related and technical disciplines.
A Government spokesperson said, “This latest scholarship builds on the success of the Ministry’s inaugural $25,000 Energy Scholarship programme, for which recipients were recently announced. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2026. Interested persons can learn more and apply here: Energy Scholarship $20,000.
“The continued investment reflects the Government’s commitment to developing local talent and strengthening Bermuda’s capacity in the evolving energy sector.
“The Energy Scholarship is a key initiative outlined in the Throne Speech, underscoring the importance of cultivating a skilled workforce to support Bermuda’s transition to a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
“The announcement follows the Government’s recent Career Fair, where the Department of Energy was represented and engaged with a wide cross-section of students and job seekers. The Department was encouraged by the strong interest shown by individuals eager to learn more about the energy sector and the scholarship opportunities available.”
Minister of Home Affairs Alexa Lightbourne said, “We are continuing to invest in Bermudians who will play a vital role in shaping the future of our energy sector. This scholarship is not only about financial support, but about creating clear pathways for young people to contribute to Bermuda’s sustainability and resilience goals.
