Rothschild & Co is delighted to announce the appointment of Ilga Haubert to lead its UK Wealth Management Investment Team. As Head of Investments, Ilga will oversee the firm’s investment strategy and the continued delivery of its distinctive investment proposition for clients. She will report to UK Wealth Management CEO, James Morrell, and become a member of the UK Wealth Management Committee, in addition to holding Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) responsibilities for the Investment Team.
Ilga brings more than 20 years of investment experience spanning research, portfolio management and senior oversight of global investment teams. Most recently, she served as Head of Equities at Fidelity, where she led the firm’s European based portfolio management team and contributed to the development of its global equity capability.
The Head of Investments role was previously filled by Mark Wallace, one of the Co-heads of UK Portfolio Management, who will now focus on his portfolio management responsibilities full time as the firm’s discretionary investment offering and assets under management continue to grow.
James Morrell, CEO, Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management business, said: “As we continue to invest in our business, appointing a dedicated Head of Investments was one of our key priorities for 2026. I am delighted that we have appointed someone of Ilga’s calibre and deep experience. I look forward to working with her as we continue to enhance our investment capability, always focused on our core objective to preserve and grow our clients’ real wealth over time.”
Ilga Haubelt, Head of Investments, Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management business, added: “I am excited to be joining Rothschild & Co and to play a part in supporting its UK Wealth Management clients and shaping investment strategy, building on the strong foundations already in place.”
Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management business focuses on preserving and growing clients’ wealth over the long-term by delivering returns ahead of inflation, while avoiding large losses in market downturns. Using a disciplined, bottom up approach, rather than trying to time markets, portfolios combine high quality Return Assets targeting sustainable, long term business growth, with Diversifying Assets designed to protect capital during major equity falls. As one of the founding contributors, Rothschild & Co has a proven track record of investment performance of more than 20 years with Asset Risk Consultants.
Ilga’s is the first senior appointment made by James Morrell since becoming CEO of the UK Wealth Management business, effective January 2026. He succeeds Helen Watson, who is now Chair, following a decade long tenure as CEO and working with James for over 20 years.
