Fisher German is travelling between its 25 UK offices using only non-motorised transport as part of its ‘Big 25’ challenge, raising funds for 25 charities along the way.
The firm originally aimed to raise £25,000, but has already exceeded that goal.
With Fisher German matching donations up to £25,000, the total now stands at more than £50,000, to be divided equally among the charities.
Greg Collings, associate partner at Fisher German and head of the planning team at the Worcester office, said: “We are starting our fundraising adventure by walking to Acorns Children’s Hospice via its shop in Worcester where we will meet their mascot, Alex the Acorn.
“We then have a combination of a whole different ways of travelling to our Thame and High Wycombe offices which includes cycling and canoeing which is sure to be great fun.”
The team from Fisher German’s Worcester office was passed the relay baton by colleagues from Exeter before they began their 117.5-mile challenge over six days.
The team has chosen Acorns Children’s Hospice as its beneficiary.
The charity supports children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families across the West Midlands and Three Counties.
Sian Timmins, partnership fundraising manager at Acorns Children’s Hospice, said: “We are thrilled and honoured that Acorns has been chosen as the charity partner for Fisher German’s Worcester office.
“The funds raised will make a real and lasting difference to the lives of children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across the Three Counties and West Midlands, and to their families when they need us most.”
The Thame office selected The Red Kite Family Centre, which supports children and families in Thame and nearby villages.
The 2,400-mile relay has already featured tandem bikes, unicycles, open water swimming, and even a conga line.
The Big 25 challenge coincides with Fisher German’s rebrand, designed to reflect its growth strategy and future ambitions.
