Corning man arrested for misuse of food stamps and stolen property


Steuben County Sheriff’s investigators arrested a Corning man on August 8, 2024, for allegedly using another person’s benefit card to unlawfully obtain food stamps. Nicholas A. Paige, 30, of State Route 414, is accused of misusing the Steuben County Department of Social Services benefit card between June 12 and June 24, 2024.

Paige faces charges including Misuse of Food Stamps, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Village of Bath Court at a later date.

The investigation involved the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit, along with the District Attorney’s Office.
