City places lien on W. 13th Street property after house demolition


CASPER, Wyo. — The owner of a property on West 13th Street owes the City of Casper more than $12,000.

Tuesday, the Casper City Council during its regular meeting authorized a placement of a lien for no more than $12,105 against the property at 1342 W. 13th St., for costs relating to asbestos testing and demolition.

The building was demolished on June 6 according to the requirements of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings.

These are the itemized costs:

  • O&E Report — $125.
  • Notice and Order Recording — $18.
  • Notice and Order Release — $12.
  • Asbestos Testing — $1,365.
  • Demolition — $10,685.

Funding for the demolition came from the Code Enforcement budget, which will be recouped through the Revolving Land Fund.
