MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Minnesota’s Senate Majority Leader was in the Moorhead area Thursday to learn more about some of the issues facing northwestern Minnesota.
The tour was designed to highlight how state money has been able to help the city of Moorhead, agriculture policy, and emergency medical service funding.
Democratic State Senator Erin Murphy of St. Paul and Senator Rob Kupec of Moorhead surveyed the downtown Moorhead underpass project. They also stopped at Trinity Lutheran Church to discuss childcare issues.
“This Legislature has made really strong investments in childcare including ending the childcare cliff, Murphy said. “We’re one of 3 states that have done that, and that has been under the leadership of Senator Kupec, and that is going to mean better wages for childcare workers.”
The lawmakers also stopped at a Moorhead area farm and at Barnesville Ambulance Service.
