Chubb Limited announced several executive appointments within its North American general insurance business. John Lupica, previously Vice Chairman, Chubb Group and President, North America Insurance, was named Executive Chairman. Juan Luis Ortega, formerly Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President, Overseas General Insurance, will succeed Lupica as President, North America Insurance.
Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, praised the new appointments, stating, “We are bringing to bear at the top of the division an extremely strong team of experienced Chubb leaders.” He further acknowledged Lupica’s exceptional strategic capabilities and underwriting knowledge, and expressed complete confidence in Ortega’s leadership skills and track record of success.
Ortega brings over 25 years of insurance industry experience to his new role. He joined Chubb in 1999 and has held various management positions within the company, including Regional President of Latin America and Asia Pacific. As President, Ortega will have executive operating responsibility for North America Insurance’s top and bottom line. &
