Community Fund Of Darien Announces Ticket Sales For Annual Fundraiser

DARIEN, CT — The Community Fund of Darien on Monday announced ticket sales for its highly anticipated annual Designed to Dine fundraising luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Wee Burn Country Club.

The event will feature 30 unique tablescapes thoughtfully crafted by renowned interior designers, florists, and decorators. Guests are encouraged to secure their tickets early for the event which has sold out quickly in the past.

Tables of 10 will be available Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 8 a.m., and individual tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 27, also at 8 a.m.

Designed to Dine unites the community to raise funds for over 35 nonprofit agencies in Stamford, Norwalk, and Darien that address basic needs.

All proceeds from the luncheon directly support The Community Fund’s mission to provide neighbors with access to essential services such as food, shelter, physical and mental health care, job training, and youth success programs.

Chief Creative Officer at Sister Parish Design Eliza Crater Harris, who is also the great-granddaughter of the legendary Sister Parish, will be a guest speaker.

Sister Parish Design is an American heritage textile and wall-covering brand founded in 1933 by the iconic American interior designer Sister Parish. As a fourth-generation female-owned and operated family business, it boasts a legacy of timeless design that graced the great American houses of the past and present, including the Kennedy White House.

Eliza continues her great-grandmother’s legacy by bringing Sister’s iconic designs and spirit to the modern world of American design.

Leading this year’s event committee are co-chairs Erin Eblen and Kristine Miller, who are joined by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Committee members are Robin Ackerman, Lynne Andren, Marla Chandler, Melissa Cutler, Christine Gaze, Meghan Gehrke, Claire Johnson, and Colleen Thompson.
