Appeal launched to fund trip for terminally ill dad of two

Sandra Bishop-Laggett, a teaching assistant from Mundesley, launched the appeal so Asa Webb, 34, can spend precious time with their children, Lily, 11, and Jax, 9.

Mr Webb, a former barber from North Walsham who worked in Norwich for many years, has battled serious health problems since his early 20s.

In April, he underwent emergency open heart surgery, and has since been admitted to intensive care four times.

Sandra said: “Asa just said, ‘I’m so tired. I want to have some fun with the children. I’ve never taken them on holiday.’

The response has been overwhelming. At the time of writing, more than £4,300 has been raised through 150 donations, far surpassing the £700 target.

Many donations have come from Asa’s former barbering clients and colleagues at The Den, with some contributing hundreds.

Any remaining money will also go towards days out in Norfolk, including Great Yarmouth and Pensthorpe.

Sandra said: “We just want to give Lily and Jax happy memories with their dad.

“This trip gives them something joyful to hold onto.”

“I will be forever grateful to everyone who has helped give my children the opportunity to make these memories with their daddy.”
