$102M for WKU Opportunity Fund helps students in the classroom and beyond

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky University has just announced a remarkable achievement, unveiling millions of dollars in new funding to benefit its students.

In April 2018, the university’s president set an ambitious fundraising goal of $50 million, a target that WKU has significantly surpassed by raising over $100 million through alumni and donations. This generous support will be used to enhance student experiences outside the classroom and provide critical scholarships.

Amanda Trabue, vice president of Philanthropy, expressed her gratitude, noting, “To see that our alumni and friends have invested in them and their education and their future. They are paying it forward to help them achieve their dreams and their goals for them and their future and their communities.”

The majority of the funds will be directed towards increasing WKU’s enrollment, ensuring a positive impact not only on current students but also on future generations. This substantial financial boost highlights the strong commitment to advancing education and supporting student success at WKU.
