DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy company, is expanding the country’s gas trading routes by bringing more US seaborne supplies as it races to secure energy for winter.
The firm’s D.Trading unit brought its first free-on-board cargo with roughly 100 million cubic meters of natural gas from Venture Global Inc.’s Plaquemines export facility in Louisiana to the Klaipeda LNG terminal in Lithuania, the company said on Tuesday. That was the first time the Ukrainian trader was responsible for chartering a tanker, loading the supplies aboard the Gaslog Houston on Oct. 20.
