Founded in April 2022 as part of the Panasonic Group’s transition to an operating company system, Panasonic Energy is a global leader in innovative battery technology.
The company offers safe, reliable and convenient power solutions through its automotive lithium-ion batteries, storage battery systems and dry batteries.
The solutions serve a wide range of sectors, from mobility and social infrastructure to medical and consumer products.
Panasonic Energy is currently constructing its second North American factory in De Soto, Kansas, with production expected to commence by March 2025.
The factory will have an annual production capacity of approximately 30 GWh, which is integral to Panasonic Energy’s strategy to increase EV battery production capacity in North America.
The partnership represents a significant commitment to reducing CO2 emissions by EV adoption.
The collaboration will also generate employment in the De Soto area and surrounding economic zones of Kansas, contributing to the US manufacturing sector and the overall economy.
