(Listening Area) NorthWestern Energy Announced via FaceBook on Tuesday that they’re monitoring forecasts for Thursday, July 25th, and considering a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff.
According to NorthWestern Energy’s website, a PSPS happens when extreme weather conditions threaten their ability to safely operate the electrical grid. Grid disasters can cause wildfires, as well as more permanent damage to grid infrastructure could result in much longer outages.
As of now, NorthWestern Energy is only in the monitoring stage, and has not made a decision on any shutdowns yet.
