Citizens Financial Group has added Webber Wealth Partners to Citizens Private Wealth, bringing aboard a Southern California advisory team that previously served clients with more than $1.2 billion in total assets at its prior institution.
The Newport Beach-based team is led by Matt Webber and Chris Illiano and serves high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners throughout Southern California.
Webber Wealth Partners provides expertise across investment management, wealth planning, and related advisory services.
The team will also be able to connect clients with capabilities across Citizens Private Bank and Citizens Commercial Bank, creating a broader platform for clients whose financial needs extend across wealth management, banking, lending, and business services.
The addition strengthens Citizens’ presence in California, which the bank has identified as an important growth market.
Citizens Private Wealth currently has teams in Newport Beach, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
Citizens Private Bank also has teams in San Francisco, Marin County, Menlo Park, Beverly Hills, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, and San Diego.
Citizens has been expanding its private wealth business nationally through the recruitment of established advisory teams.
Including Webber Wealth Partners, Citizens Private Wealth has added 13 teams across the U.S. since 2024.
Those teams collectively oversaw approximately $13.2 billion in client assets at their previous institutions.
Citizens said its strategy is to combine investment management and financial planning with private banking and commercial banking services to address increasingly complex needs among affluent clients, business owners, entrepreneurs, and families.
Citizens Financial Group reported $234.5 billion in assets as of September 30, 2026.
The company operates approximately 1,000 branches and roughly 3,000 ATMs across 14 states and the District of Columbia.
