Somerset Council launches the Somerset Health & Wellbeing Survey

Your Health. Your Voice. Your Somerset.

What matters most to you when it comes to your health and wellbeing?

Is it being able to access the right support, at the right time?

Finding clear and reliable information you can trust?

Or having more opportunities to live a healthier, more active life?

Right now, people across Somerset have a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local health services – and it starts with a simple survey.

Somerset Council’s Public Health team has launched the Somerset Health & Wellbeing Survey, inviting residents aged 18 and over to share their views, experiences and priorities. The results will play a vital role in shaping how services are designed, delivered and improved across the county.

Why your voice matters

Health and wellbeing mean different things to different people. For some, it’s about staying physically active or managing long-term conditions. For others, it’s about mental wellbeing, reducing stress, or accessing support to stop smoking or cut down on alcohol.

By taking part, you’re helping to build a clearer picture of what really matters to Somerset residents, including what’s working well and where there are gaps.

This isn’t just about gathering opinions. It’s about making sure services reflect real lives, real challenges and real communities.

What the survey covers

The survey includes a wide range of topics, such as:

  • Physical activity and staying active

  • Heart health, including blood pressure awareness

  • Smoking, vaping and support to quit

  • Alcohol and substance use

  • Mental wellbeing and emotional health

  • How people access health information and support

It takes just a few minutes to complete, but the impact could be long-lasting.

Helping tackle health inequalities

One of the key priorities for Somerset’s Public Health team is reducing health inequalities – making sure everyone has the same opportunity to live a healthy life, regardless of where they live or their circumstances.

That’s why it’s especially important to hear from a wide range of people, including those whose voices are often underrepresented.

Whether you’re already engaged with health services or rarely use them, your insight is valuable.

Be part of the change

This is your chance to influence how services are shaped in the future – from prevention and early support through to accessible information and community-based initiatives.

By sharing your views, you’re helping to create a healthier, more inclusive Somerset for everyone.
