Funeral fund for teaching assistant mum Angela Shellis raises thousands of pounds

The 45-year-old was found dead in Prestatyn and her son has been charged with her murder

A funeral fund for a mum whose death sparked a murder investigation has raised thousands of pounds. Angela Shellis, 45, was found dead in Prestatyn on Friday, October 24.

Angela’s son Tristan Thomas Roberts, aged 18, of Coniston Drive, Prestatyn, has been charged with her murder. A Gofundme was set up to support the family after the death of Angela, a Rhyl High School teaching assistant who was “loved by anyone who met her”.

The fund will support costs towards her funeral and memorial as well as raising money for mental health and autism charities.

That has now raised more than £6,000 in just over two weeks. The fund is continuing to run with it just short of the £6,500 target.

MS Gareth Davies said: “The tragic murder of Angela Shellis in Prestatyn has really shook the local area over the last ten days. I can’t begin to imagine how her poor family must be feeling.

“Angela’s sister set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money for her funeral service given that she was just 45. It’s really nice to see so much money raised and they’re not far away from the goal of £6,500 now.”

Angela’s sister Sarah Gunther said: “As a family we are heartbroken that Angela passed away so tragically on Friday 24th October. She was only 45 years old and such a lovely, happy person and loved by anyone who met her.

“She had a heart full of love and kindness, always put others before herself. Losing her so suddenly has left our family devastated and struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable loss.

“We are now trying to give her the funeral and memorial she deserves. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and mean the world to us.

“Any remaining money we would like to donate to a charity for mental health and autism. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who may want to support.

“Thank you from the bottom of hearts for your kindness, love and prayers during this difficult time. We will forever cherish Angela’s memory and keep her spirit alive in everything we do. With love and thanks, Sarah and family.”
