SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) – A 4-year-old died after he drowned in a backyard pool at a short-term rental on Thursday.
Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio said the boy was found unconscious and not breathing.
CPR was performed on the child before firefighters arrived. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
It is unclear how long he was in the pool or who found him. Firefighters said the pool didn’t have a fence around it.
The family was not from the area and had just checked in to the rental earlier that day.
